With proper care and regular maintenance, your laminate floor will provide you and your home with many years of beauty, warmth and durability.
• Sweep, dust mop or vacuum your laminate floors regulary to remove loose dirt and grit which if left unattended, can dull your floor.
• Damp mopping is suggested occasionally. However, your laminate floor may expand if excessive water is used. Wipe your floor thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth after damp mopping.
• Place mats at each entryway to collect excessive moisture and dirt before entering your home.
• Putting floor protectors under your furniture legs will prevent possible scratching and abrasion.
• To protect your floor from damage, use a blanket or a piece of carpet, face down, under heavy appliances or furniture when moving them across your laminate floor.
• Use products specifically made for laminate flooring to spot clean or completely clean your laminate floor.
• Never use abrasive cleaners, steel wool or scouring powder.
• Do not use soap-based detergents or 'mop-and-shine' products.
• Do not wax or polish your laminate floor.
• Never try to refinish or sand your laminate floor.
• Avoid walking across your laminate floor with stiletto heels. Keep your pet's nails trimmed.
• The finish on your laminate floor may help protect the floor from sunlight and UV rays that can typically cause fading on aging hardwood floors.
• If a section of your laminate floor must be replaced due to damage, be aware that the replacement product may be a slightly different dye lot and texture than the initial product. With time and usage, the repaired section should blend in with the original installation.
